It all began when the crew of the Jupiter mining ship Red Dwarf were killed by a blast caused by a badly sealed Drive plate. Dave Lister, safely sealed in a stasis booth, and his pregnant cat were the only survivors.
Series four was originally broadcast in 1991, and sees the whole crew fall in love with a mechanoid, Lister turned into a chicken, and a parallel dimension version of Rimmer. Classic stuff from a series voted one of Britain's best ever sitcom.
